Manage Subscriptions Link Error

I placed a hyperlinked “{sp-manage-subscription-url}”, without the quotes, into the page footer of a template. This shows up correctly in the resulting email, however, when clicked, it opens a Manage Subscraptions page with the sendpress@example.com email address, instead of to email address for the user in question.
Have I overlooked some kind of setting or is this an error? I tried to scan the support area going back two years to no avail. Anyone with an idea?
Otherwise, I really like this plugin. Many thanks for any help that may come of this request.
