Making all content areas transparent

    So after searching this forum for 3 hours and trying all the code I saw, I’m still no closer to a solution. I have a large picture that I want to feature as the background (unmoving) and I want all the content to float above the image (as it does). However, each of the content areas (header, sidebar on the left, main content to the right of sidebar) have an automatic background color that I can’t make “transparent”. What css do I need to do this? Thanks in advance.
