• Before I say anything else my site is here: icase.org/wp. I haven’t done much with it yet, I’m kind of experimenting with things.

Anyway, I will try my very best to keep this as simple as possible and be clear with my questions as I don’t want to waste anyone’s time.

I need to clear the contents of the header. Then I would like to 1) make the slider thinner and 2) move it into the header.

Once I do that, I would like to make the semi-transparent background inside the slider static (so when the slides change, the semi-transparent background does not move). I’d like to put a site logo into the semi-transparent background, and remove the buttons and arrows from the slider.

After that I would like to put the menu at the bottom inside the header and center it.

I have read how to move objects around the page but I don’t know how to do the other things, so I just asked it all at once in hopes that one of you kind professionals would show me the codes needed to accomplish all of this.

Thanks in advance for your help! I know I’m asking quite a bit here and I apologize but this would make everything perfect for my use. Thanks again.

If it is not possible to put the logo inside the semi-transparent background of the slider, another option would be to remove the background, buttons and arrows from the slider and put a logo to the left of the slider, with both items together being centered in the header. I would be happy either way.

I know I’m asking quite a bit here

I’m afraid you are. I would suggest you try to find a theme that is nearer what you want.

Ok, I know the slider can be moved to the header so the only thing there would be clearing the contents of the header. If the current objects can be put in there, can’t they likewise be removed?

I saw somewhere how to resize the slider so I know that can be done. As for the other slider “wants” I could live without those (I think I saw somewhere how to remove the buttons, I don’t remember).

Can’t a menu be placed in the header wherever you want it? I would assume so but I don’t know how to do it. I’ve seen them in footers, sidebars, etc. so I would think that could be done.

It’s a massive turnoff to have the first and only reply to my question basically tell me to go away and find another theme. That sucks, because this particular theme is great and it looks to me like the author has gone above and beyond trying to help people out with it, unlike TOO MANY other themes out there where the authors don’t care if you understand any of it or not. I regret not learning how to code, because the way it is now I’m at the mercy of whoever decides to help or hinder me and it sucks. I’ll wait another day for a better reply then I’m gone…no sense donating any money to the cause if I’m going to get the cold shoulder.

Sorry that you found my answer brusque. It wasn’t meant to be.

What you’re asking for is complex and would probably take a seasoned professional several hours. And even then, there are some things in your request that would be very difficult with this theme.

Yes, large structures can be picked up and moved to a different part of the page, but pulling apart the sub-structures and getting them to do things they weren’t designed to do is a long hard journey.

Customizr IS a great theme and it’s incredibly flexible so that you can tweak it to become different. But you cannot turn it into a completely different theme just with a few tweaks … Which is why I suggested you find a theme that is already nearer to what you want.

Sorry I cannot be more helpful.

It’s ok, I will keep looking. I didn’t realize what I was asking for was in reality a whole new theme. I guess that’s the bad thing about stuff like this…newbies like myself might be able to do some things but we don’t understand the complexity involved in what appears to be a reasonable task. I trust you know far more than I do, so unfortunately I guess I’ll have to find another. Thanks for your help.
