Can the header (background) banner image have a URL attached to it? I’d like to advertise something and then the user be able to click it and visit the page.

  • Actually, the WP Header feature under the Appearance menu does the background for the banner area (banner widget position). To add a clickable banner, image, or even a slider, you would need to use a widget in the banner widget position to do that. For a single clickable image, you would upload an image to your media library, open the image by clicking on “Edit” and copy the File URL. Use a text widget to use html to load the image and make it a linked image. You can also find an image or banner plugin to do this as well.
