• Hi

I think I have been hacked but this one is odd as it affects two different WP/WC sites that I have and the second site I only installed and have been configuring for 1 week

When I click on any menu links or other links, 3 new windows open in all browsers, with porn and bitcoin stuff. I dont think there are any real threats but nevertheless, they need to go

Both sites use different themes and the only thing I can think of and because its when I click on links, that its the theme! But both sites use different themes. One site is only 1 week old. One person registered as a subscriber but I deleted them as the site is not finished and blocked from bots

I wrote down a list of plugins that I found useful and made sure that the nw site had the same plugins, all official?

So I am now lost, Also the plugin Malware and brute force finds nothing and neither does wordfence. I have also scanned the sites using external site scanners

Any ideas what I can do – Please

If your sites both run under the same user ID and if both use the same database access ids, a hack of one easily affects the other.

Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.
