Major issues with 2.5.1

    After installing 2.5.1, I have a big issue with writing posts. The Save and Publish buttons flicker interminably. The computer slows ways down and events lag far behind keyboard input. The computer fan comes on. The status bar shows a lot of stuff loading that doesn’t need to load. Preview takes minutes to appear. Selected categories don’t stick to the post.

    The only thing I did when installing 2.5.1 that wasn’t a normal upgrade was use the wp-includes/formatting.php file from 2.5, because when I did the database upgrade, there was an error about the formatting.php file.

    Should I go back and reinstall 2.5?

    I just installed the 2.5.1 formatting.php file and got this error:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_shortcode_regex() in /usr/www/users/vdebolt/wteacher/blog/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 95

    I downloaded a fresh 2.5.1 and reinstalled the whole thing. Working now.

    I am having the same exact error. I have tried downloading a fresh 2.5.1 and that is not working for me.
