MailerLite

With MailChimp pivoting to a whole different sort of platform and MailerLite being the most obvious alternative, I’m surprised that it (MailerLite) isn’t one of the email solutions you offer. Is there any way you could add it?

Hi,
We’ll check out MailerLite this week and most likely release an update to include it.
That would be great because I know quite a few people crossing over to Mailer Lite.
Hi,
Just to give you an update on this, I’ve created an account with MailerLite and I’m awaiting for their review process to finish. Which should be tomorrow. Then (if approved) I’ll test it out and if possible (should be based on the info I found) the update will be released tomorrow.
Great news! Thanks for the update. Changing over the ML in your plugin is the last piece i need before I can say adios to MailChimp.
Hi,
Just released the update. MailerLite is now available.
Thanks but the form is no longer working.
Can you check a sample page on my website like this one:
and see if you can submit an email address?
I doesn’t work on Firefox or Safari or Chrome.
Thanks!
Hi,
It’s related to the disabling of the name field. It was still set as a required field even though it’s hidden so it couldn’t let the form go through because the field has no value.
Just released an update that fixes that issue.
Ummm…we’re not quite there yet.
When I input an email address via the form, it takes me to my MailerLite sign up form
https://landing.mailerlite.com/webforms/landing/a6g3g4
Before, when I had MailChimp, your optin form would automatically fill out the email address field and the new subscriber would just have to click “Subscribe.”
But now that I have MailerLite, it takes me to the form, it doesn’t add the email address into the field, it then pauses for about half a second and then takes subscribers straight to my ‘thank you for subscribing” page
http://martinturnbull.com/thank-you-for-subscribing/
but WITHOUT collecting the email address.
Can you fix this quickly please because now I have subscribers thinking they’ve signed up but haven’t because optin isn’t quite working right yet.
Thanks much!
Hi,
Your form is pointing to the landing page:
https://landing.mailerlite.com/webforms/landing/a6g3g4
It should point to an URL like:
https://app.mailerlite.com/webforms/submit/FORM_ID
When you’re in WP admin > Optin Forms, click the (?) icon on the left of the label “Form Action URL”, there’s step by step with screenshots on getting that URL.
So it should be created as an Embedded Form in MailerLite, not as a landing page.

I’m sorry that this has turned into a bit of a pain but as per your instructions, I’ve changed the action for URL to
https://app.mailerlite.com/webforms/submit/a6g3g4
but the same thing is happening. It now takes me to the right subscriber form (it’s an embedded form not a landing page) but after about half a second it flips to the thank you page the same way it was before.
Hi,
Sorry, I’m new to MailerLite so not quite familiar with it yet.
Maybe there’s an issue because of the reCAPTCHA you have on the form’s landing page.
Don’t remove it, keep that as you landing page form and try creating a new Embedded Form with the default settings ( not a custom design or a reCAPTCHA ). And try that one for the subscription form on the website.
I tested it with 4 emails before releasing the update and just tested with another one now, it’s working fine.
What I have is the default embedded form, https://app.mailerlite.com/webforms/submit/t1g6a3
Okay, so I built another embedded form using the default and only change the wording a bit and background color:
https://landing.mailerlite.com/webforms/landing/x3b7p4
Then went to “Get embed code”
Then “HTML code”
Then copy and pastedhttps://app.mailerlite.com/webforms/submit/x3b7p4
into my Form Action URL field
Then clicked “Save Changes”
and tried to add an email address and got the same response as I’ve been getting all along. So then I went from Firefox to Safari, cleared my history, and tried it there, but got the same response!
I”ve just asked a friend to try it on his computer and he got the same response as I’ve been getting – staying on the embed form briefly before skipping to the thank you page.
It now appears that the process is working but not in the way it did when I had it hooked up to MailChimp. I’ve asked a new friend to double check this but it looks like when someone puts their email address into your optin form, it does send that address to the subscriber list even though it lands on the intermediate embedded form for a half second before bouncing over to my thank you page. I’ll let you know when my friend has confirmed this.
Hi,
Just tested it on your website. I did receive an email to confirm my subscription so the subscription does work.
When I submitted the form it did show me the page https://app.mailerlite.com/webforms/submit/x3b7p4 and then redirected to http://martinturnbull.com/thank-you-for-subscribing/
Mailerlite redirects to your “thank you for subscribing” page as fast as it can, but the browser keeps showing the page with the form until it receives a response from your server ( your website ).
You get the same if you subscribe via the landing page ( https://landing.mailerlite.com/webforms/landing/x3b7p4 ), it doesn’t redirect immediately.
Basically the same as when you click on that “thank you” page link here in the comments, it won’t immediately go there, your browser will keep showing this page until it receives some response from your website and will then show your website.
It would be best if MailerLite showed the “Success Message” ( from the settings ) before redirecting to the custom “thank you” URL. That way it wouldn’t show a form while the browser is trying to load the custom URL.
