    Help!
Suddenly I didn’t receive any messages from my website anymore. After reading that installing a SMTP plugin could help resolve the problem, I installed WP Mail SMTP to try.
But now I don’t receive the emails with the code from my Two Authentification plugin anymore! And without it I am locked out from my WP dashboard…
The WP Mail SMTP plugin must be blocking the Two Authentification mails. How do I disable the WP Mail SMTP plugin when I’m not able to access my WP dashboard anymore??

  • Hi @okidoki0987,

I apologize for the trouble. To deactivate the plugin without logging into the admin dashboard please follow this tutorial. Please note that to setup SMTP in your site, you’ll need to choose any of the available mailers and get started. Here’s our documentation for each of the available mailers.

    I hope this helps!

    Hello,

Thank you so much for your answer! <3
I have followed the instructions in the tutorial, but unfortunately it doesn’t work. Even when I change the name of the plugins folder, I still have to fill in the two-factor authentication code and I still don’t receive the necessary code in my mail… 🙁
I suppose that the only thing left for me to do is to restore my website with my latest upback?

    Hi @okidoki0987,

I apologize for the trouble and confusion. Please rename the two-factor authentication plugin folder, this will deactivate the plugin on your site which means you’ll not need to fill two-factor authentication code. After that, you can configure WP Mail SMTP correctly and then activate the Two Factor Authentication plugin again.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks!

    Hello again,
Yes I’ve been trying to do that, but I just can’t find the two-factor authentication plugin folder on my ftp. I’ve been looking for it everywhere…
    🙁

Hi @okidoki0987 – I’m sorry for the trouble. Please follow this troubleshooting guide or contact your hosting provider to fix the issue.

    I hope this helps!

    Hello,
Problem solved! Impossible to deactivate the plugins from the FTP, but I managed to do it from phpmyadmin. And then I could get into my WP dashboard and fix everything from there 🙂 So now everything works fine again! Yay!
Thank you for your help and patience <3
