On my form, I collect the email address and name as [your-email] and [your-name]. When these are used in the “From” address as tags, the email received has correctly substituted the requestor’s information. When an email address is directly entered in the From field, the email address is substituted with the web server’s email address.

This effect happens in both the Mail and the Mail 2 sections.

Why does the substitution in the From field work, but directly typing an email address (e.g. info@mydomain.com) get substituted? Is this a bug?

What other plugins and theme do you use? Where can I see the site?

I am happy to give complete info, but not on a public forum. Please pm me [removed by Moderator]

Saying what plugins and theme you are using, will not compromise your sites security and unlikely to be commercially sensitive. So even if you don’t want to include the URL you can still post that info.

Asking folks to contact you outside the forums is generally frowned upon, remember folks including plugin developers are volunteers so make the barrier to help you as low as possible. Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks for letting me know, Tim.

I decided to go about it another way.
