Low quality photos

Hi, Foogallery is perfect for what I am trying to do, except that I am running into an issue with low quality photos in the lightbox that I think is being caused by foogallery (old WP galleries with Jetpack carousel did not have the issue). Any advice or help would be most apprecaited.

See example on this page http://www.markwr.com/farm-warming-evening/, on all photos with final photo in the gallery easily showing in the peoples faces.

I have foogallery set to: 1)jpeg thumb quality = 100, 2) retina support 2x 3x and 4x all on, 3) use original thumbs (tried by on and off), 4) have tried multiple thumb size settings etc. Have cleared caches after each lot of new settings.

For lightbox, I have used foobox free and tried Everlightbox, both show same issue (and I understand just display the images generated by FooGallery)

Have tried shortpixel lossy and lossless and original un optimised images. Disabled other plugins that may effect (e.g. cache plugins etc).
