Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
I’ve tryed to do all that Esmi but no luck. My posts page is still there if I click on ‘catagories’ but it dosen’ activate on my pages bar. I get the “well this is embarassing” notice. Any suggestions?
Re-upload a fresh copy of Twenty Eleven to wp-content/themes using FTP (or whatever file management application your host provides).
