• I am testing a new site. I was testing to see what would happen if a member lost their login information.

The test member I chose has not admin rights. I hit the button to say send me a new password.

I recieved the email to the members address with the following written on it, (By the way it had the right website name)

Someone has asked to reset the password for the following site and username.

    nameofsite.com

    Username: test

To reset your password visit the following address, otherwise just ignore this email and nothing will happen.

    http://Therightnameofmysite/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=Jg5nxBs5lFKee7ZbbLFQ&login=test

As you can see there is no password also when i hit the link it went to a page that says,
“Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid”.

How can i sort this problem out, thanks

  • WordPress does not send out the new password in the email by default.

O did not know that. What then do they do.

They send the member to a link where they can set a new one?

If this is true, that link is not working for me and it says about the key?

How can I fix it that the linkl will fix the password.

All ok WordPress did send out a new password to the member, it went into his spam box.
