• I’m in a tough spot…cant find my blog CatLadydiary.com
I have password and login for both WordPress.com ( to get the anti spam comment module ) and WordPress.org…Where I want my blog to be ( I know it’s there, I uploaded a theme and started posting). I have hosting through host partner MYDomain.com but I am unable to get into my admin to upload my files to them, so my site can go live. Does anyone know where I can look for help. http://www.catladydiary.com/wp-admin/ produces a 404 error message. It has been confusing between the .com and .org and I have had to reset my usernames and passwords numerous times( all set now) and the support section of each is the only place I can access. Much gratitude to anyone with help Thank You

  • are you sure the files are in the root of http://www.catladydiary.com/?
If so, you will need to delete the host’s index.html or default.html or whatever it is.

Wow, I don’t know where the files are ( by files do you mean the post and pages I created in WordPress?

No, that’s not what he meant. There are no “files” for posts and pages. Those are stored in the database. He meant the WordPress files themselves. Where did you upload them? To have uploaded a theme you’d have had to upload and install WP first. Did you install it in the root? A folder?

Hey Thisisedie, I think you have my answer! I skipped the uploading my files to my hosting company, that’s where I’m stuck…I can’t login to my administration to get them. I guess because they are not there. My Theme is sitting in a folder in my old laptop and I just switched over to a Linux Laptop…Can I reinstall WP and theme in a folder there and start over with the same blog name?
My domain is registered as CatLadyDiary.com and that is where I would like my readers to be able to find me. Thanks

You don’t log in to anything to get the files. You download WP by clicking the big red link at the top right of this page where it says “download”, upload the files where you want them, and install. Instructions come in the package. Are you talking about installing on your computer or installing on a server you paid for?
