Lost administrator status.

When I registered my website with WordPress it created an administrator account so I could work and change on my website as I pleased. Now have lost total admin user privelages on my website after a hacker apparently tried to access it. I have made several attemps to log in when the system would not recognize my username and password, so I re registered with the same username and changed my password to the old one that I always used to make changes on my dashboard. Now I suddenly have no contents on my dashboard. I am just a normal user now and can change nothing to my website. I am still on version 3.4.1 because I cannot update anything. How do I regain my administrator status.
