Immediately upon activating The Events Calendar, I lose any ability to manage my widgets. The “add” links disappear, they cannot be dragged/dropped, etc.

I have deactivated all other plugins and tried a different theme.

As soon as I deactivate the plugin, I have control again.

This is a brand new site through Go Daddy.

I am VERY new to WordPress. So please give very specific instructions if you need additional information (how to get that information, etc.)

  • Hi @rfouts,

Thanks for taking the time to reach out, and I’m sorry for the trouble here! I’m happy to help troubleshoot this with you to see what’s happening.

If you used a one-click installer to set up your WordPress site via GoDaddy, this installer may have included additional plugins and themes that are not packaged with WordPress by default. Some third-party themes and/or plugins have been known to conflict with The Events Calendar or our other plugins, so we’d like to eliminate any of those as a possible culprit first!

First of all, please make sure you are using the latest version of our plugins. You can check this by accessing the Plugins page when logged into your WordPress backend and checking to ensure that there are no available updates for any of our products.

Once you’ve done that, will you please follow the steps outlined in this article? This will allow us to determine if there is a problem in our plugin or a conflict with the theme or other installed plugins.

Let’s start there and see what we find!
