looking for alternative design action

hey guys, I want to build up a page where I can scroll, not just down and up, either in all directions. example: like in space you scroll until finding a planet and there is a link on it.
I thought, that must be possible with a huge background picture 10kx10k pxl. and when a user lands on the page, the person just see a little part (beginning for example in center) like 1090×800 pxl form it.

how can I implement such a navigation?
