• Before you yell at me . . . I have looked and looked and Googled and Binged – and have not come up with anything that fits my needs.

And – they seem so simple to me.

All that I am trying to find is a plugin – or – an easy way to have Featured Content – either posts that I designate – or posts from specific categories – or maybe even specific pages (if I’m feeling really crazy) – – that show up above or near my header.

I would love it if there was a thumbnail – with the title – and that’s it.

I would rather that they didn’t feel the need to slide all around – or be flash carousels that dance about . . . I just want them to be static. Why do they all seem to feel the need to move around?!

Any ideas of help would be fabulously appreciated.

  • Hi,
I will try to keep my abuse of you to a bare, comfortable minimum. 🙂

One reason you don’t see plugins for this is that it’s not needed anymore as of WP 2.9 or 3.0.

The method is making a Post “sticky”. Write your goodies in your Post, and then click Visibility. Choose “stick this post to the front page”.

For getting other combinations, or several particular things to stick to the homepage, you’ll have to roll up your sleeves and do theme development, which stops most people dead in their tracks. Unless somebody knows of some special plugin for this.

    Good luck.

    Thanks for the info!
