Looking for a specific type of plugin.. Help!

I’m having a hard time finding a plugin with this specific need, so I wanted to ask you all if such a thing exists.

I basically want a way to have a page show a description of what the contents of that page are, and have posts that are attached to a specific category be shown within that page, all together on one screen.

Right now the only way I can see that’s close to this is create a page and use the menu feature to make the category be a subpage of that page. The problem with this is everything is still disconnected from one another (description and posts)

An example would be having a cooking blog. I have a page dedicated to baking. Inside that page the description talks about basic cooking principles to consider when you bake, other instructions, etc. Then on the very same page below that description is each individual post (attached to the baking category) having a recipe for various things. That way when someone goes to that page, they see everything together on one page and the description is right at the top so they understand what they’ll be looking at below it, etc.

Hope this makes sense. If there isn’t a plugin for this specifically is there another way to do this with what is already built into 3.3? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!!
