Login Verification Loop

    Hi,

    I was suddenly and inexplicably logged out of my site and returned to the login page. When I tried to login I got the following message: “VERIFICATION REQUIRED: Additional verification is required for login. Please check the email address associated with the account for a verification link.”

    I followed the link which takes me to the log in page followed by ?wfls-email-verification=… which gave me the message: “Email verification succeeded. Please continue logging in.”

    However, when I then put in my username and password again I am given the VERIFICATION REQUIRED message all over again. I have now been through this three times in a row and am therefore unable to login. I am assuming from the url addition starting wfls that this is something to do with wordfence but recognise I could be wrong. Please advise so that I can get back into my own site.

    And I can confirm that this has happened on both FireFox and Chrome in both regular browsing and in InPrivate/Incognito modes. (That is now 6 attempts)

    I’ve left it a few hours and come back and I have the same thing still happening. Please help me get back in to my site. Thanks

    For now I have been able to deactivate WF using jetpack but will turn it back once I’ve had a look around. I’m anticipating that bringing the problem back though and even if it doesn’t I fear it recurring without warning in the future. As such I would appreciate any insight as to why this might have happened and how I can avoid it in the future.

    Hey @thefrizelles,

    It sounds like there might be a conflict either with the theme or one of the plugins you’re using, could you try temporarily switching to a default theme if you’re not already using one and disabling all other plugins then reactivating them one by one to see if the issue persists?

    Hi,

    Ok, so having finally gotten around to this, it looks like it might have been a conflict with WP Hide, which I disabled because it was causing another issue. I seem to be able to login ok now but will post again should the issue return.
