Login using email address

    I’ve set up a forum and it’s looking nice, but I find the login page confusing.

    The standard WordPress login will accept either username or email address, but your custom login screen will only accept username, and a lot of people are accustomed to using their email address as their login.

    Is it possible to get the login form to accept either username or email in the same way that the native WP login does?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for this suggestion. I completely agree. We will get this updated in an upcoming version so that it works with both username and email address.

    @skirridsystems If you update to 2.4.4 you will be able to log in with the username or email address.

    Brilliant, thanks.

    One minor point, the label above the box still says ‘Username’. It would be better as ‘Username or Email Address’ like the WP login box.
