    I absolutely love the idea of changing the wp-admin directory to something else. This is something I’ve had activated for some time and has really limited the amount of hacks.

    I’ve just updated to the lasted WordPress (4.7.1) and updated all plugins including yours. After such an update, I tend to check everything as thoroughly as possible. I can still login to my admin panel through the “special directory” like before the update. HOWEVER, when I go to wp-admin subdirectory, instead of getting a 404 error, I get a login screen! Before I would get a 404 error, so it’s opened up “the door” again. Please advise. Thank you!

    Ok, updating my own post with the solution! The article below shows what has happened. Doing the update turned the feature off and it needs to be reactivated again. Important to note….

    Start by reading the Introducing the New iThemes Security Dashboard article.

    Pay special attention to the ‘Advanced settings’ and ‘New Dashboard FAQs’ sections.
