    Hi,

I’m experiencing an issue with logging in to my website after updating to Version 9.1.2.

I currently have both Custom Login URL and Maintenance Mode activated. When I access the login screen and enter my username and password, the page simply refreshes and I’m not logged in.

However, when I disable Maintenance Mode, I’m able to log in normally without any issues.

Could you please look into this and let me know if there is a known issue or if there’s anything I can do to resolve it?

    Thank you for your help!

    Best regards,
    Julian

@julimuslia thank you for reporting this. However, I’m not able to replicate / reproduce the issue on my test site. Enabling Change Login URL and Maintenance Mode still allows me to login just fine. Do you have any other plugin / code that is modifying the default WordPress login somehow?

@julimuslia are you using the free version of ASE?

    Hi @qriouslad,

    Thanks for the fast reply.

Yes, I’m using the free version. After doing some testing, I noticed that there seems to be a conflict with Wordfence when 2FA is enabled.

Here are the results of my tests:

    1. Maintenance Mode ON + Wordfence 2FA ON:
The login does not redirect to the 2FA page. Instead, the login page simply refreshes.
    2. Maintenance Mode OFF + Wordfence 2FA ON:
The login redirects successfully to the Wordfence 2FA page.
    3. Maintenance Mode ON + Wordfence 2FA OFF:
      Everything works as expected.
    4. Maintenance Mode OFF + Wordfence 2FA OFF:
      Everything works as expected.

So, it appears that the issue only occurs when both Maintenance Mode and Wordfence 2FA are enabled.

I hope this helps narrow down the cause of the conflict.

    Thanks!

@qriouslad I’m also experiencing the login refresh loop, but disabling the 2FA feature in Wordfence does NOT solve it for me. To fix it, I have to either:

    • Disable ASE maintenance mode
    • Disable entire ASE plugin (free)
    • Disable entire Wordfence plugin

The last time I touched my site was September 7 and the issue was not present then.

@julimuslia @erinfriction Thank you for the additional information. Please test this v9.1.3.2 that contains a possible fix: https://www.wpase.com/sdc_download/21849/?key=k6rwz8ibgvpvtqf4sstatonmpuelmx. If it works, the fix will be included in the next, official release on Monday.

@julimuslia Great to hear that. Thanks for confirming the fix. It will be included in next Monday’s release.

If you find ASE useful, please consider writing a quick review for it at https://wordpress.org/plugins/admin-site-enhancements/#reviews. Thank you.
