That’s not true – anyone with a WP.COM account can post on their forums here:

OK, got it sorted. with godaddy wp plugin you log in @ http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/
NOT @ http://www.wordpress.com

The user name and pasword for my WP admin account will not work at wordpress.com
It will only work at mydomain.com/wp-admin apparently, because I am hosting, so in effect, I am signing into my own server not WP. I think.
so I guess if I want to access wp forums etc. then I need to make a another WP account through wordpress.com?
WordPress.COM is not relevant if your site is hosted by GoDaddy. These are the forums for self-hosted sites (where you are now) .

And yes, user accounts and login info is different for WP.COM, WP.ORG and your own site – none of them are related to each other unless you just happen to use the same info.
