Login Click Picture to Update Database

Hi all,

I have created a the template needed for the website, but functionality wise it has only just started.

I would like to update a field within a database that contains the login details and a boolean field that would be turn from false > true when a picture is clicked.

I have no idea of how the databases are ran within the template login and if it is feasible. Can anyone give me any direction to go towards?
