Logged in users can’t edit profile

    New users can create an account by registering. When I approve their membership they get notified and it changes to an approved account. But when they log in and click the gear icon there is no “Edit Profile” link so they cannot update their user information.

    Accounts that were created months ago don’t have this issue and they can still edit their information.

    Ideas on how this can be resolved?

    Update – when I go to the profile URL with the added parameter “…/?um_action=edit” it goes back to the user profile page, not the edit.

    There has to be something not allowing in the user setup, but “Can edit their profile” is checked in the General Settings.

    I got it working but had to reconfigure everything for that user role. It appears somehow the settings had to be re-saved in order to work.
