Localization problems
-
I have completed the italian translation of the Events Manager plugin by filling in the empty spaces in the .po file and fixing up a couple translations that were already there. I would like to contribute my .po and .mo files, but I have found a couple of problems:
1) the h3 title “Bookings” on a single event page is not localized, it stays “Bookings”. Where is this constructed? I see that I can customize templates but I’m not sure which one I have to customize, I have found “<h3>Bookings</h3>” in only two files (em-install.php and includes/sample-placeholders/event-single-default.html). My guess is that it has something to do with this last file, and yet “Date/Time” and “Location” are localized while “Bookings” is not so I’m not even sure it is this last file.
2) some nouns and adjectives are split up and translated separately, and while this works in english it just doesn’t work in other languages. For example “Booking approved” seems to be translated as two separate strings, and “approved” is used in more than one context. But in other languages such as italian, the gender of the noun will change the ending on the adjective. So you can’t just use “approved” in any context. It’s better to keep “Booking approved” as one whole string and any other “nn approved” as one whole string and translate them like that. I’m seeing “Prenotazione confermato” (male adjective with female noun), which just doesn’t work in italian.
