I just have WordPress on XAMPP but I can’t download new themes, plugins and photos it said : “Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2018/05″. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”
    Thank you

If you work on a Mac localhost a quick and somewhat dirty fix is to give “777” (read, write, execute) permissions to the wp-content folder. Check the folder permissions.

Please give ‘644’ permissions to file and ‘755’ to folders and check again.

Access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these).

Go to your WordPress installation folder. and right click on the wp-content folder select ‘File Permissions’ and set the numeric value to ‘755’ or ‘777’ and test.
