Yeah it’d be cool to meet up and sort of get a little local thing going…there aren’t many web design shops out here I think it’d be cool to have a little community.

Should we set a date for first meetup? Say Wed., Sept. 7? We will need a place to meet. Anyone have a large space they can volunteer to host at? I’d offer my studio, but don’t know if everybody from Albany area would want to trek all the way up to Glens Falls?

Maybe something actually in the city of Albany would be best. There’s an awesome coffee shop on Hudson & Quail that has good Internet (and great coffee). There are a few cafes in Stuyvesant Plaza that would be great for this, too.
Coffee shop sounds fine to me. Is @overcranked or @growthop still interested I wonder?
@george, you think I should get some Buddypress running up on the upstatewp.com site? I see that a lot of people use meetup.com, but I’m too cheap. However, should this ever take off we’ll need some sophisticated event managment plugin, which WP seems to be lacking, but I’m sure we can jerry-rig something 😉
