• Ran a local host with MAMP and set up entire site. Used Filezila to upload to Comcast Business; actually Hostway is the contractor hosting the site. Upload went fine. When I launch my website I get the set up screen, but can’t connect to the database. I have verified the database ccuccwordpress is available at Hostway and the server name is mysql-ccuccwordpress.ccucc.comcastbiz.net
I would appreciate some direction on making he database connection

  • What error message are you getting? Moreover, have you double-checked that you are using the correct database name, user, password, and host credentials?

If it were me, I’d create a new database and try again. If I was still unsuccessful, I’d call my web host and make them aware of my issue. Sometimes they have configuration needs that go beyond the norm. For example, don’t even get me started with my first attempt at installing WordPress using Go Daddy. 😉

P.S., I have seen the database host value mess both myself and others up before. This might be a helpful link for you to explore:
