If you have multiple physical locations, you can use the Local SEO plugin to set up those locations on your site. For Local SEO to work efficiently, you have to have a brick and mortar business as you’ll have to set a physical address in your setup. Google does need to know the exact location of the business in order to give a high ranking in local search.
no, there is not multiple physical locations, just one.
If you have a single location, you can still use the Local SEO plugin.
but will this allow the site to show up for searches in multiple locations as mentioned above?
@lordsnake Are you asking if the plugin is capable of making your site show up in local searches that are not near the local search the user is performing? If so, can you please clarify what you mean?
ok lets start again.
When you do a search on google, the top results are google my business/google maps
These results by default only work for your EXACT physical location. So if the business is located in Broadstairs, then you only show up for a search for “window cleaner in Broadstairs”.
Pretty much every business in the world services customers beyond the physical location of their office. They will service customers in other nearby towns, cities, postcodes etc. They do have physical addresses in all these places though.
The only way around this on “google my business” is to list additional physical locations.
Will this local SEO plugin get round this limitation and allow me to show for more locations other than the physical address of the business.
The Local SEO plugin helps you to get rank higher in your local community. However, this doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to get rank in nearby cities.
In order to get rank in nearby cities, you’ll need to optimize your websites for other towns that you want to get rank by optimizing content and optimizing keywords. This isn’t just limited to the Local SEO plugin.
