• I like this plugin. Is it possible to load the video image, but not the YouTube player until there is a click, and then replace the image with the player and play? This would save about 200kb and a significant amount of load time, especially where videos are on heavily visited pages (e.g., home pages), where the video is actually played for only a small percentage of the visits.

    Yes and no. The option to use a hyperlink instead of an iFrame exists, but you will need to enter a creative media query in order to get it to work on all screen sizes (it’s aimed at mobile). In addition, the image will be linked to YouTube itself and will take the user off-site in a new tab. (again, aimed at a mobile experience).

    I will consider this for a future update as this is a concern of mine too.
