I see people often confuse our plugin with a complete live broadcasting technology. Basically, broadcasting live streams requires a streaming server (Example: Wowza.com), a broadcasting software (Example: Wirecast, OBS), and a Video Player (Example: All-in-One Video Gallery) that shows the stream on your website.
Kindly check https://www.wowza.com/resources/getting-started-streaming-engine for the step-by-step instructions. Note, our plugin just handles the “3. Play Back” part.
Also, please check https://plugins360.com/all-in-one-video-gallery/adaptive-live-streaming/ to configure your live stream feed (HLS) in our plugin.
Hope this helps you!
Not confused at all and mentioned needing a service. Currently using Youtube to experiment. A member gives me the url of there live stream, I create the post, they go live. Going to change it up n create something that users dont need me for. I will create posts in your platform, call them channels. Then I will write something that changes the info in the DB ( author name, url, so on ) on the fly. Only complexity is the scheduling part. The idea is to have a channel where members fill time slots.
When the live stream time slot ends, the url is saved for play back and replaced in the channel post by the next or by a link to scheduling. Playback is controlled by listing the authors videos. Simple search of author n custom post type.
Folk, your plug in is amazing. Makes my job so much easier. But, a branded broadcasting solution would make it even better. I am good using youtube for this project, but next is a cam girl thing. Thinking Youtube is out for that.
Just a thought for you guys.
Thanks for explaining in detail.
I understand that you are looking for a ready-to-go broadcasting solution similar to YouTube that allows the cam girl thing. But, very sorry we don’t have any experience with such a solution to recommend you one 🙁
Even if you find a service, we may need to find a way to add it to our plugin. But, it depends on the service you choose. So, this part needs to be discussed later after you find a service.
I would suggest finding a service that provides the streams in “HLS” (.m3u8) or the “MPEG-DASH” (.mpd) format or at least an “Iframe Embed Code”.
Alternatively, you can develop a solution on your own using Wowza.com.
