links in post?

im trying to setup a page where i’d like to have lists of my favorites and when i put <?php wp_get_linksbyname(‘Favorites’) ?> nothing comes up. it does work because the links come up on the sidebar, just not in a post. is this possible or am i stuck with sidebar only?
