linking to a category

    i have wp installed and running fine. i’m trying to link to specific catgory within my weblog. for example, i have a category named espial and it’s category number is 5. i use the url http://system.ahs10.com/WordPress020706v20/?cat=5 to try to link to the page for this category (this is the link wp directs a visitor to when clicking the title for this category). anyweezer, it doesn’t work. the link goes to my site, and even goes to a category page. it just goes to the same category page regardless of the link (section named apprise, category number 3). i have 5 links, all using appropriate category numbers (2-6) and they all direct the browser to category 3.

    can anyone shed some light to fix my problem? any advice, comments, or simple hello’s are appreciated. thanks in advance. take it easy, laters……10

    Either you’ve fixed the problem since posting this, or I’m completely misunderstanding the problem.

    When I click the link you posted, it goes to the espial category as expected.

    If you have not figured out what was wrong… maybe try explaining what’s wrong again? If you have, congrats on figuring it out. (And maybe mark this topic as resolved.) 🙂

    well the problem still exists, however since you’ve told me that you could go to that link i know it has nothing to do with my wp installation.

    i think maybe it’s the question mark in the link that’s throwing the flash off. i even tried making a separate html page for each button under the same directory as my wp installation. in these pages i used a meta refresh tag to re-direct it the category page. still no go.

    anyweezer, as far wp is concerned…..this problem is resolved. i will mark this topic to reflect that and do some new searching now. thanks for your help. take it easy……..10

    did you try just using /categoryname

    href=”/espial”

    ??

    that’s what I am using and it is working just fine
