Link names

I have been looking for a plugin that apparently doesn’t exist to help organize & keep track of outside website url’s. Since I have been unable to find this, I have a question on how to go about it a different way….

On my website (www.crazyforsavings.com) I post a lot of deals and coupons that I find on specific company websites. I have noticed on other sites similar to mine they have a link such as http://www.websitename.com/coupon1 and it will direct them to a completely different website such as coupons.com or target.com. How are they making such a short url with http://www.websitename/coupons1 and how is it directing the reader to the longer url coupons.com website?

Does this make sense? :-/
