• Hi,

    Some of the post title links on the home page of the blog and links in the side bar seem to be stuck in the active state. I have searched all over google but can’t seem to find an answer.

    This is the site

    http://www.speaksinhala.com

    I would really appreciate any help.

    Thanks

  • I can’t see any such problems on your site. Have you tried using another browser?

    Actually – there does seem to be a problem. I cleared browsing data in Safari and in Chrome but after following a link the active state remains. Does anyone have any idea why?

    Do you see them Underlined or Dark Blue??

    1. Underlined — means link active
    2. Dark blue — means visited link

    You may be getting them dark, as you have most of them visited from your browser.

    They are the same colour that I get when I hover over the link. It just seems to have started being like this. I want the link colour to be what it was before following it.

    So the issue is, the sidebar links are blue?

    The easiest thing would maybe go to the site follow a link come back to the homepage and you’ll see what I mean.

    I’d be grateful if you could do that and tell me what result you get and why you think it might be happening.

    I’ve tried it on two different computers in Safari and Chrome

    Thanks

    I see this http://awesomescreenshot.com/04cqkp776 in the latest version of Chrome on Windows.

    Hi Andrew,

    did you follow any of the link posts and then return to the main page?

    Am I going mad? – are visited links a different colour and I haven’t noticed that for the last 6 weeks or so?

    No Docransom, you’re not going mad.
    I had not followed a link and returned to the home page.

    You are right, there is a different colour to links that have been clicked already.

    I clicked on ‘Free lessons’, then went back to the home page and saw this http://awesomescreenshot.com/040qks471 . Is this what you’re using?

    Any advice as to what to do? I want the visited links to be the same as initial links.

    Sure.
    Download the Jetpack plugin and use its “Custom CSS” functionality hold the following CSS modifications;

    #secondary a:visited {
     color: #1982D1;
    }

    We hope for you to resolve this issue without too much stress.

    Andrew thanks for your help – I’ve got the jetpack plugin and have activated the custom css.

    I deleted the comments and copied your code in – when I preview it I get the same result as before. What I am trying to achieve is to have my blog post titles have the same colour after they have been followed as when they are in the initial state.

    I’m not sure I am really making myself clear.

    Whereabouts have you entered that CSS? I’m not seeing it on the website.

    I haven’t saved the stylesheet yet – I just previewed it.
