Hi there,
switching the tracker behavior to Client Mode will greatly improve performance. Let me know if that works for you.
Best,
Jason
Nope, that didn’t work for me, it was already in client mode.
Any other options I could change to gain some speed?
You could uninstall Browscap (via the Maintenance panel) to squeeze a little performance out of Slimstat.
That seemed to speed it up a little.
Can I ask what exactly Browscap does? Is it necessary?
I don’t know if this has to do with it, but instead of the pages/posts visited many times Slim Stat just shows:
/
Also, I’m getting two different IPs. One default and one Originating. Which one is the correct and is there a way to show only the correct one?
Thanks again!
Hi,
Browscap is a third-party tool we use in our plugin:
http://browscap.org/
it allows Slimstat to decode the User agent string ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_agent ) into a more intuitive browser name and operating system, plus other information about the client. When deactivated, Slimstat reverts to a faster proprietary heuristic function which tries to guess the same information relying on regular expressions, instead of scanning the entire database of strings (browscap). As you can understand, this approach is much faster, but also less accurate, and can produce false positives when it comes to identifying crawlers vs human visitors.
As for the two IP addresses, please see:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Forwarded-For
Hope this helps,
Jason
Thanks for the info!
Truth be told, it seems to be working faster without Browscap.
I guess there is no other option I can tweak for even more speed optimization?
Thanks again!
I forgot to ask before.
When a month ends and we hit the first day of the new month, all the logs seem to be gone from the dashboard.
Any way I can disable this?
You can use our premium add-on Default Filters and set your reports to display the last 30 days, instead of the current month, which is the default behavior.
Best,
Jason.
I see, there’s no other way in the free version, right?
