Lightbox Pro – Cannot Zoom on iOS

I have a construction client that needs to be able to zoom in on photos in his projects.

Currently Lightbox Pro does not enable zoom in on photos on iPhone and iPad. I found this post from a frustrated user whose solution was to no longer use NextGen Pro.

I really like NGP, and since it is by far the most downloaded gallery plugin (40,000 new downloads per week), my guess is that it is the best. So how can I configure Lightbox Pro to be able to zoom in on pics? One of the comments from user “photocrati” was that the picture should display full screen. That is correct, but I object since often to see details of a project on a phone, you need to zoom in more.

Note: I tried all the other Lightbox effects:

shutter – allows zoom, but the navigation arrows are extremely tiny (1mm) on iPhone screen. It is nearly impossible to navigate to next photo – most of the time it reverts back to the thumbnail images.

shutter reloaded – no ability to swipe to next pic, similar to shutter.

thickbox – same as shutter reloaded

So what is the solution?
