    is that Ok if I build a theme based of this plugin for commercial purposes.

    Unequivocally the answer is “Yes, that’s fine. It’s GPL’ed software and you don’t need permission to use or modify it.”

    You do have to adher to the GPL software license.

    Of course I’ll let you know about updates and release time. Also the plugin will install directly from WP.org by user. I’m not embedding it.
