We have purchased a 5 site license in order to cover our live site and two test sites which are actually running from sub directories under the main domain. Our website was developed to replace an existing site, so our initial URL was different than our ultimate URL. We developed the site under the URLs http://www.walnuthillcommunitychurch.org http://www.walnuthillcommunitychurch.org/test and http://www.walnuthillcommunitychurch.org/play.

Since the successful launch of the site we have now transferred the domain names used previously to point to the new site and changed the URLs within WordPress to reflect the change so that our live site is now back to the original domain name of http://www.walnuthillcc.org and the two test sites have been changed accordingly.

This activity has resulted in only the new live site domain being able to accept the license number. Can you please do whatever is necessary to have the license cover only the three new URLs. We are getting a license invalid message on our two new test sites and it is holding up our phase 2 development.

    Thank you.

  • You have already contacted me directly, so I’m not sure why you would post here for the public. As I said in the email to you, each unique install counts as an install, be it in a sub directory, sub-domain, or on a separate domain. I upped your license count to avoid spending more time on this. If that does not work, then you can purchase a new license key.

Firstly, I posted here because I did not receive any prior communications from you as of four hours ago. I thought maybe it didn’t go through or I typed my email address incorrectly as the coloring on my monitor made it difficult to read the text in the box you provided. I chose this method because it interfaced directly with my outlook therefore making communication easier.

Secondly, this situation was impeding product development related to the website and as of four hours ago when I tried to enter what is a valid license number the situation was still problematic. Since receiving this response a few minutes ago, I was able to activate the test site.

I am thankful you fixed the situation. I was not looking for an increase to the license or any special consideration. We had purchased the 5 license package to comply with your licensing practice and have only three WordPress installations active. I simply was looking to have only the sites we are using counted against the license and make you aware of a potential problem with the plugin, where when a site URL is changed in WordPress the site looks like it is counted twice, once under the previous URL and one under the changed (current) URL. Previously the sites functioned under the walnuthillcommunitychurch.org URL and now they were functioning under the walnuthillcc.org URLs.

Sounds like Outlook may be filtering messages. Per the email, your license was used on 5 sites: all domain variants and install locations count against the limit.
