Latest Update

Hey the latest update has caused my site to go to a blank screen – the plugin has been switched off as every time i switch it back on the site goes down
-
Hi,
please enable WP_DEBUG to get the details of the error.
https://www.seopress.org/support/guides/wp_debug-enable-error-logging-in-wordpress/
Paste it here.
Thx
I had the same thing happen, but there were no errors. With the latest version of SEO Press activated, most pages are blank, and the home page is missing most of its style and functionality. With SEO Press deactivated, everything renders as expected.
Activated: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10nQF-fPJnexSLwXbG4oRYJAThP-qI3Rw/view
Deactivated: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1x928nD7FivdKpEjki6_I5UN02ZFJxFvO/view?usp=sharingWP and all plugins are up to date. DEBUG mode is enabled, and there are no messages in debug.log
Can you list all your active plugins please?
Try also to go to SEO, Dashboard and use the iOS toggles to disabled globally some features and find the culprit.
Clear your cache if necessary when running the test.
I am a VERY experienced developer, and I have done all of those things.
With SEO Press activated, you are spitting out invalid HTML for Google Tag Manager.
Browser console: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TeO4hysfwXhgRaYnl1r9YkAsu2g_6Zuf/view?usp=sharingThe invalid HTML produced by your plugin: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1F_nCINIfR5eSF89l4l283OR01ULjit6F/view?usp=sharing
I have the skills to dig into your source code to fix it or show you where the fix is, but I would prefer not to do that.
It seems some code are duplicated related to Google Analytics.
Have you added custom code from SEO, Analytics, Custom Tracking tab?
Any caching plugin?
Which theme do you use? Is this a custom one?
This site has few plugins and very little custom code. The only custom code is for command line scripts – nothing that hooks or is called on any part of the WordPress front-end. The theme is Neve. The behavior is identical with Object Cache Pro disabled and bypassing CloudFlare proxy.
Here’s the site health info, if it helps: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1x9pFSFRFpuMUpKmivY2ZTBkqIdkA4fHn/view?usp=sharing
I have positively confirmed that the issue happens only when SEO Press and Jetpack Boost are both active. The “Search engine optimization” setting in Jetpack is disabled and Google Analytics is not connected to Jetpack. Toggling the “Concatenate” options in Jetpack Boost has no impact.
However, deactivating the “Defer Non-Essential Javascript” option in Jetpack Boost alleviates the symptom.
Toggling this option Off leaves the site with noticeable layout shifts, so this isn’t a viable solution for the long-term. Given the popularity of Jetpack Boost, this needs to be accounted for in SEO Press.

Thank you for diving deeper into this Chris – I Have checked and both can run together but I can’t activate the Defer Non-Essential JavaScript tab in boost otherwise the black screen comes back. I also checked with WordPress support, and they were not able to identify any errors in the log- Agreed Given the popularity of Boost i think this definitely needs to be rectified.
Thank you @appideasdotcom for this update.
Can you confirm @shopkouwi the issue disappears when you disable JetPack Boost? I want to make sure this is the same issue and not something else.
We’ll contact JetPack support team to investigate and get back to you ASAP.
And can you both confirm this:
Have you added custom code from SEO, Analytics, Custom Tracking tab?
Thx
I have not. All three inputs on that screen are empty.
Please update SEOPress Free to version 7.5.2.1 to fix this.
Well done. Thank you!
