Latest posts on Photocrati Theme

I would really like to have the latest few blog posts displayed on my existing homepage, each with a thumbnail and a few lines of text. If you take a look at my website (http://www.silverphotography.co.uk) I would like them to be displayed beneath the text and picture that are already there, but above the widgets in the footer.

Is this something that can be achieved with a widget or would I have to choose another theme?
