large image on home page?

I have created a theme in Artisteer but when I try and add an image to my home page it comes up small with the “sheet” still showing in the background (making sense?).

What I want is for the image to be the full sheet size without showing the sheet behind it.
Could anyone assist me with this please? My blondeness is getting in the way 😉
