I tried deactivating my plugins. That didn’t help.
Have you tried:
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
No, I haven’t. I’ve been using thesis theme for some time now with no problems with the kitchen sink.

But now you have upgraded. Checking theme compatibility is part of the basic debug procedure as is the deactivating of plugins.
I can’t afford to, as it’s the website for Cook County Government.

If you can’t do the standard debug, you won’t find much help here. I suggest you call your IT folks.
I’m sorry, I didn’t know that was part of the debug check. I’m not very wp-savy. I checked the theme, that’s not it. I switched to the twenty eleven theme briefly. No change in kitchen sink; still not there.
Fyi, this just happened some time after I upgraded wp. I was using the upgrade for some time without any problems.
