• This makes adding and managing custom fields so much easier than any other method I’ve tired. My only request would be to have the function filters needed for the WYSIWYG fields automatically added instead of having to manually do this. Other than that… I’ve found a new addition to my list of “Must Install” plugins 😀

  • Which filters are you adding manually?

    In order to get the information input into the WYSIWYG MetaBox to output properly on the page I had to add the following to functions.php:

    /* @Recreate the default filters on the_content
    -------------------------------------------------------------- */
    add_filter( 'meta_content', 'wptexturize'        );
    add_filter( 'meta_content', 'convert_smilies'    );
    add_filter( 'meta_content', 'convert_chars'      );
    add_filter( 'meta_content', 'wpautop'            );
    add_filter( 'meta_content', 'shortcode_unautop'  );
    add_filter( 'meta_content', 'prepend_attachment' );

    Then on the template I had to add the following:

    $text = get_post_meta($post->ID, 'wpcf-lyrics', true);
          echo apply_filters('meta_content',$text);

    I’m not sure if this makes any difference but the base theme I’m using for this site is called “Gigawatt”.
