Hi @gkaralov1
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I understand how frustrating this can be, especially if you’ve been relying on the previous interface for many years.
I checked this on my end, and everything appears to be working as expected. WooCommerce uses three types of order notes, and they are distinguished by their labels and layout rather than relying on color alone:
- System notes: Added automatically by WooCommerce or extensions for events such as status changes, payment results, and webhook callbacks. They use a muted gray background and are not visible to the customer. Some events may also trigger an email notification.
- Private notes: Added manually by a store administrator for internal reference. They appear on a white background and are not visible to the customer.
- Customer notes: Added manually and sent to the customer by email. They include a Sent to customer label and are also visible in the customer’s My Account order details.
To help confirm what you’re seeing, could you please share:
- A screenshot of the Order Notes panel showing the white note(s) you’re referring to.
- Your exact WooCommerce version (WooCommerce → Status).
- Whether you’re viewing the classic order edit screen or the HPOS order edit screen.
With those details, I’ll be happy to take a closer look and see whether what you’re experiencing is expected behavior or something different.
