If I just search for my domain name, I can see the basic website
search where? google…? can you clarify please.
the dashboard the screen is white, and I can’t access anything. I haven’t installed a theme yet because I can’t
WordPress comes with a default theme. So, it should be there regardless.

If I type my domain name into google I go to the default homepage of the site.
However, when I click the dashboard tab on the top left hand side, the usual dashboard menu appears on the left hand side, but when I try to click any of the tabs, eg theme, plugins etc, nothing happens, the screen is white empty and blank.
Yes, it does have the default theme on the home page, but I cant make any changes in the dash board

try MANUAL reinstalling. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders.

Thank you for that suggestion. I’m quite new to this and I’ve got no idea how to do that.
As I only just started this site this evening do I have to copy files and folders. I haven’t made any changes to the site as yet.
when you say copy up all the files and folders, do you mean copy them from the unzipped download into my file manager on the control panel?

using FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application provided by your hosting provider (cPanel…).
