  • @christina2412,

    This is probably due to one of two things.

    Either the Subscribe2 database table has not been created correctly (so it is missing or incomplete) or the confirmation email to your new subscriber is being blocked on the server.

    The most likely of these two is the blocked email. Do you get any other emails from your blog for registrations and comments for example.

    If they are coming through try changing the Subscribe2 sender in the Subscribe2-Settings page under the Email Settings tab. Have a read in in the FAQ section under the heading where it says “Some or all email notifications fail to send, why?”.

    Hi thanks for coming back to me, I have now added an email address with the domain name but this has not fixed the problem it seems. I have also read through the FAQ section and contact my hosting provider to see if they can tell me why the emails are being blocked. They replied with this… can you help me out? Thanks!

    Can you contact first the developer of the widget/plugin to make sure what specific requirement it needs so we can set them up?

    @christina2412,

    Subscribe2 (in common with WordPress) needs access to the php mail() function and for the sendmail binary (or equivalent is use on the server) to be configured to accept the emails.

    Hi there, my hosting company have said this…

    Can you confirm with the plugin developer, if their plugin is using SMTP to send e-mail or just pure the phpmail script as we only use SMTP to send e-mail.

    @christina2412,

    WordPress (and therefore by extension Subscribe2) use PHP mail be default. You would need to add a plugin like the Configure SMTP specified above and configure it to send emails via the SMTP server to work on your current hosts configuration.
