    Hi Jordy,

I just used your “Media File Renamer” plugin for the first time, I had a few media for which I wanted the file renamed. It worked, so thanks a lot for that.

However, I have a few remarks, may be ideas for future releases 🙂

    1. While the physical file name is changed, the file name field in the database seems to retain the original
    2. There should be a way to update the slugs without changing the name (discovered the option page later)
    3. Media Gallery: there’s no bulk action to rename a bunch of media in one go
    4. Media Gallery: pressing the button to rename the file really ought to be some AJAX (or at least you should try to retain the filters)
    5. When bulk renaming, if two or more files have the same name they should be automatically postfixed with a number

    Regards,
    C.

    Hi Jordy,

There are a lot of threads in this forum which I assume were either resolved or ended up being non-issues, but they are still open. It gives people a bad impression, especially if the thread is over 90-days old.

    Sorry, I’m just saying…

    Hello,

The problem is a plugin is a LOT of work, and replying to everyone is very costly in time. I am actually always reading them and I reply to the ones about real bugs. If I had no family, no other projects, no work, no hobbies, I would definitely reply to everyone.

I have Pro plugins on WordPress, way more used than this one, and I actually reply to everyone and I am more careful.

This plugin (Media File Renamer) works very well, for lot of people. Now people should understand that a developer is busy with his own life and things and cannot always give free help for a free plugin he made. And with a bit of research, trial and potentially help from a friend developer, they can make this plugin works if it doesn’t already.

I will work on a Pro version on that plugin soon however, and will be back here 😉 For now I focus on the other plugins that need me more.

Fair enough. I’m just saying how it looks to people who are unaware of the issues you mentioned.

I would suggest that you put a version of what you just wrote above on this plugin’s description page to set people’s expectation about support for this plugin.

That was I did for my Retina plugin before and that helped a lot. Thanks, I will do this now, that should help 🙂
