I have a question on the notice recently received from FB about my app not being compliant with the “July 2013 Breaking Changes” It says the following “My Blog Name, is currently using the following deprecated features: Non-threaded comments. Please see the developer roadmap for more details about this change.” Do I need to be worried about this or just set the migration setting to “Enabled” and give it no thought?

  • Good question, although I would not recommend “giving it no thought”.

update: If you look in the changelog, there appears to be an updated version (1.4) to take into account the July breaking changes – so you can ignore my comments below, which I leave for the sake of completeness!

The plugin devs will need to advise if this will actually break the plugin, and in which case, advise when an update will be issued.
Since this event is only a few days away with no mention of it in the plugin support forum, it’ll be interesting to see if this does affect the plugin. Whilst I have no evidence as such, I can tell you from experience that previous “breaking changes” have broken the plugin, with updates coming later.

Plugin version 1.4 includes threaded comments support for the Comments Box noscript fallback.

Update your plugin code before opting-in early to the migration setting if you are using Comments Box without overriding the noscript fallback functionality.
